Katherine Heigl has revealed her childhood in a white bubble and how this experience impacted the way she raised her adopted, multiracial kids. In an interview with she spoke about the "Firefly Lane", as well as "Grey's Anatomy" actress admitted that her appearance didn't concern her. But after talking to her adoptive sister from South Korea about how society was treating them, she became aware of the stark differences they were. "I inquired of my sister, Meg, if she had been treated in one manner while out in public with our parents and a different way when she went out by herself without them. Meg replied "Oh, yes, every time!" Heigl talked to parents about how she realized her ignorance. Heigl said she got angry and felt that she needed to channel the anger she felt on her adopted daughters. Heigl and her husband of 13 years -- the musician Josh Kelley -- have four-year-old son Joshua Bishop Kelley, Joshua Bishop Kelley, Jr. They were adopted by Nancy Leigh from South Korea at the age of 12 in 2009. and then Adalaide whom was eight years old young and Black in 2012.
