Laura Linney has been hailed as one of the most popular actors. Her fame is as a strong actress but also vulnerable. Her father was an acclaimed playwright, but she was raised as an all-only child by her single-mother and nurse. During the summers and with her father Linney discovered a love for theater. Her first stage experience was initially in Brown University then at Juilliard School. When she graduated from Brown University in the year 2000, she started her Broadway debut soon afterward. Within two years of that, her first film came out and the next year her TV debut. Her appearances have been in a variety of film, TV and stage shows since. There have been numerous awards during her professional career. They include four Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Academy Award Nominations, and five Tony Award Nominations. However, despite all the awards, her passion for theater is still there constant, as she performs as a stage performer and screen.
