April Lockhart

April Lockhart (born July 4 April, 1995) started her journey in music as a 7th grader when she started guitar and piano classes. When she was 12 years old, April came up with her first original song Different. The singer spent much of her time when she was 14 making songs and practicing the piano. Over the next few months, she began taking writing excursions with her father on trips to LA as well as NY. April began to include various other topics relevant to the Take my Hand song for some friends, such as peer-pressure disabilities and teen suicide. Lockhart also has an ever-growing fan base as a lifestyle blogger and is employed by the renowned Clean Beauty company Ilia. Born without a left hand, she has a significant part to play in her. However, it's not the entire tale. Lockhart's Instagram profile doesn't hide her disability but doesn't concentrate solely on it. The point? It is important to remember that each of us has many faces, our identities vary and we're much beyond our body. I don't want that to be the only thing that defines me. I don't wish to become a disability influencer in which I only talk about because there are so many other elements to me Lockhart states in video form from her home in Nashville. However, it doesn't affect my day-to-day life. I do my normal activities and I've adapted to my disability. Since it's a part of who I am and something worthy of discussion. Lockhart has been a great example to other women regarding self-acceptance. She admits that she's been through periods of being uncomfortable with her body at times not being confident in wearing specific types of clothes showing how much of her body. She now wears any outfit she wishes and shares pictures on Facebook with pride. It's all a process is the most important thing. I don't know that you ever arrive she says about self-love. It's a long journey. I don't think you ever reach your destination. I believe that it's really vital to surround yourself people who can discern and understand your heart.
